The First ITMCTR Advisory Group Conference Was Held in Beijing
On December 12th, The First ITMCTR (International Traditional Medicine Clinical Trial Registry) Advisory Group Conference was held in Beijing. Sixteen international experts from eight countries and regions around the world participated and discussed the further development of ITMCTR by online and on-site means. Ghassan KARAM, technical officer of World Health Organization, and HUANG Luqi, vice commissioner of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine attended the meeting and delivered speeches. More than forty representatives from National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, The Chinese Cochrane Center, and China Center for Evidence Based Traditional Chinese Medicine attended the meeting as well. Being the first advisory group conference convened by ITMCTR since its establishment in February this year, the meeting aims to enhance the international academic influence of ITMCTR and promote the high-quality development of traditional medicine clinical research on a global scale.

At the opening ceremony of the conference on the morning of the 12th, Prof WANG YanPing, Secretary of the Party Branch of Institute of Basic Research in Clinical Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences released the member list of The First ITMCTR Advisory Group, and Prof HUANG LuQi issued the appointment certificate to the chair of advisory group, marking the official establishment of the international think tank platform of ITMCTR. Prof GOH Cheng Soon introduced the current status of development of traditional and complementary medicine in Malaysia.

At the meeting on the afternoon of the 12th, domestic and foreign members jointly reviewed and revised the charter of Terms of Reference of the ITMCTR Advisory Committee, discussed the content of Handbook For Traditional Chinese Medicine Trials Registry, and held consultations on the promotion mechanism of ITMCTR. All agendas have reached consensus, indicating the direction for the next step of ITMCTR work.
